Herbs for salad

Taste and flavour

The flavour of a salad depends largely on its seasoning. And the seasoning is better when it contains a lot of aromatic herbs reminiscent of the scent of spring and sun. With a small fresh onion and mature and crunchy vegetables, the spices are even more aromatic because they owe all their flavour to the essential oils present in aromatic herbs and vegetables.
Dried aromatic herbs for salad contain: onion, parsley, chives, marjoram, celery leaves, thyme, carrots, peppers, dill and tarragon.

Advice for use

– Aromatic herbs for salad are also ideal as a table spice, for example for aromatising the flavour of potatos in a pan or vegetable with butter.
– Advice: try flavouring Dutch sauce with these aromatic herbs, served with asparagus and beef fillets.
– These herbs are very aromatic and therefore it is possible to reduce the amount of salt. It is therefore recommended to put less salt in dishes.
– Aromatic herbs for salad go well with eggs, garlic, parsley, pepper, chives, bacon, lemon zest and onion.

Did you know

The aromatic herb mix for salads also contains tarragon, one of the most exotic seasonal herbs that exist? This aromatic herb has an interesting history: it originates from the Siberian steppes, and the ancient Greeks appreciated it. Later, however, it was forgotten until the 1600s, when it came back into fashion in the kitchen of the French court. Since then, tarragon has become a must in French cuisine. Its refined floral aroma goes perfectly with a delicious salad and fresh vegetables.

Aromatic herbs, spices and vegetables contribute to a varied diet. Even aromatic herbs – and not just vegetables – contain vitamins, minerals, oligominerals and tannins, although only traces thereof. When used regularly and mixed together, they also contribute to a well-balanced diet rich in flavour.
